Pine log posts are lighter and easier to work with. The logs are also used as the cross members of the fence or wall and can also be used as pathway or garden edging. Hardwood Sleepers

Hardwood sleepers are suitable for use in landscaping construction projects such as fences, retaining walls, pathways, walkway bridges and steps, and are ideal for edging sandpits and raised garden beds.

Hardwood is renowned for being tough and highly durable. This, and the fact that it doesn't twist, makes hardwood sleepers especially good for larger projects like fences or retaining walls, where strength is extra important.

Quality Timber stocks hardwood sleepers in lengths of 2100mm, 2400mm, 3000mm and 3600mm, with a depth of 200mm, and thicknesses of 50mm, 75mm or 100mm. To maintain quality control of the hardwood sleepers we sell, we hand-select all of our stock.

Retaining walls made from hardwood sleepers can transform sloping blocks of land. By creating flat areas, the space can be opened up for a variety of uses such as play areas, flower beds, vegetable gardens and lawns.

In difficult terrain, constructing steps and walkways from hardwood sleepers is a simple way to open up inaccessible areas.

The beauty of the timber in hardwood sleepers harmonises well with other natural materials in gardens, creating an appealing, rustic effect.

Hardwood sleepers look especially beautiful edging sandpits or children's play areas, or around garden beds. An entertaining area with a sleeper floor, or a sleeper boardwalk, can be created in a few hours by laying chunky hardwood sleepers on a gravel bed.

Consider hardwood sleepers for any outdoor project where you are looking for the natural beauty of timber.

Quality Timber also stocks pine sleepers. If you are uncertain whether pine or hardwood sleepers are more suitable for your landscaping project, talk to us and we'll be happy to offer advice about which product will give you the best results.
